Giving Hs a voice - and a beat.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)—marked by painful abscesses, draining wounds, and permanent scarring—remains widely misunderstood and stigmatized. Symptoms affect intimate areas of the body, leading many patients to suffer in silence and delay diagnosis and care.

Hip-hop has long been a raw, rebellious platform for speaking truths often ignored by mainstream systems. That spirit made it the right vehicle for WE RISE. By partnering with Parish, an HS ambassador and hip-hop artist who has spoken openly about his experience for years, WE RISE grounded itself in lived truth. The track draws from real patient conversations and reflects the grit, vulnerability, and resilience that define both HS and hip-hop.

In a market saturated with polished, clinical messaging, WE RISE broke convention—releasing a legitimate track on major streaming platforms and performing it live at key moments like the American Academy of Dermatology. At a time when authenticity drives engagement, the work transformed awareness into cultural expression, pushing back against stigma and giving the HS community a voice that could not be ignored.
